The UN Security advice voted for an effort by China and Russia to extend the sanctions to Iran for six months under nuclear agreement – officially known as the Complete Complete Action Plan. The so-called “snapback” mechanism remains in force which will see sanctions reimposed in Tehran this weekend, after the end of the JCPOA.
