Since the start of the war, the men of Basij, an armed wing of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, have appeared in the Iranian streets with heavy weapons, in combat gear, showing off photos of the new supreme leader. The message is clear: dissuade Iranians opposed to the regime from taking to the streets to demonstrate.
