A bomb attack left seven dead and 20 injured in western Colombia, in the Cauca region, a little more than a month before the presidential election in the country, said the governor of the same region.
“An explosive device was detonated” on a road in this traditional zone of influence of armed groups, causing “seven civilian deaths and more than 20 serious injuries,” Octavio Guzmán, governor of Cauca, declared on X.
Octavio Guzmán also posted a video showing victims lying on the ground and vehicles destroyed after the attack.
A bomb attack on a military base in Cali, Colombia’s third city, left one person injured on Friday. The army preliminarily attributed this attack to dissidents from the former Farc guerrillas who rejected the peace agreement signed between this armed group and the State in 2016.
