Michel-Édouard Leclerc invites the Prime Minister to ask “Total to make rebates” to its customers

The president of the E. Leclerc strategic committee, Michel-Édouard Leclerc, invited the Prime Minister on Monday on franceinfo to ask “TotalEnergies to make discounts” to its customers, while the price of fuel is still at its highest in a context of conflict in the Middle East.

While the Minister of the Economy, Roland Lescure, will receive the fuel distributors in Bercy at midday, Michel-Édouard Leclerc pointed out the position of the TotalEnergies group, both supplier and direct competitor of its service stations: “As a supplier, Leclerc asked it for the same prices that it charges its network and he walked us around laughing,” he explained. According to him, “the Prime Minister would be wise to ask Total to make rebates”.

Candidacy of Jean-Luc Mélenchon for the Presidential election: “There are a lot of people on the way to Compostela”.

Asked about the candidacy, unsurprisingly, of Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the 2027 presidential election; Michel-Édouard Leclerc smiles. “There are a lot of people on the way to Compostela. There are 25 candidates now, but collective projects are not emerging. It comforts me in the idea that it is on the ground that I will go faster […] “.

National Rally, France insoumise: “Not government parties”

On the National Gathering, the president of the Leclerc stores explains that he is not interested in “parish quarrels”. “The Leclercs are truly independent.”

He refuses to choose between Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Marine Le Pen. “I am careful not to associate myself with a political movement […] There are themes raised by Jordan Bardella and Jean-Luc Mélenchon that deserve to be discussed. Afterwards, they are not government parties, in fact, they have no projects.”
