A week after Emmanuel Macron’s trip to Andorra, the Principality’s police revealed, Monday May 4, that they had arrested a 48-year-old French tourist on the very day of the French president’s visit, that is to say April 27, in Pas de la Casa.
Suspected of “endangering public security for illegal possession of a weapon”, the man was arrested after a report received by the authorities, claiming that he was staying in the town of Encamp with two long weapons on him.
“Faced with the potential risk, he was placed in police custody until police specialists carried out the necessary checks and confirmed that they were replicas of unmodified war weapons,” reports the Andorran police in their press release.
She specifies that the individual is “known to the police services in France”. He also visited Andorra last October, the date initially planned for Emmanuel Macron’s visit.
